Monday

Introduction:               As a class, ask the students to brainstorm what they think habitat
means on the board. Next, instruct them to make two columns in their writer’s notebooks. In the first column, they should write what they already know about South Dakota’s habitats. In the second column, they should write five questions down about information they would like to know about South Dakota’s habitats.

Activity:                      Students will view the Power Point entitled South Dakota’s Habitats: Worlds Within a World. Teacher will give students a brief overview of each of the seven South Dakota habitats.

Assessment:               Students will write down answers to any of their questions that the Power Point clarified.
