Warm rain turned to snow on that February day,

When we all got the call that Shirley had slipped away.

Now memories flow through our hearts as we try to let go,

Of this beautiful woman we were so lucky to know.

A more generous woman will never be found.

Her laugh was a truly delightful sound.

First in line to help out for all those in need.

Her life was full of selfless good deeds.

Shirley’s "branding dinners" were feasts that none could compare.

A loyal sports fan, like her, is these days quite rare.

Known as Daughter, Sister, (Grand)Mother, Wife…

Shirley was so many things to us all in this life.

She was strong through it all, though the pain hard to stand.

It helps to know, now, that she’s safe in God’s hands.

And though we all grieve that she had to go,

Please don’t despair for this much I know.

That although we no longer can see her dear face,

Our Shirley’s in heaven…a much better place!
